Rebtel is seeking a Mobile Engineering Manager to lead the iOS and Android engineering teams. This is a hands-on management role combining native mobile development with team leadership and coaching.
You will be responsible for coaching and developing engineers through regular one-to-ones, feedback, and career growth opportunities. The role requires staying deeply technical—writing and reviewing production code, pairing with engineers, and helping solve challenging technical problems. You will champion the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while maintaining high engineering standards and code ownership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coach engineers on technical judgment, skill development, and ownership
- Write and review production code; pair with team members on complex problems
- Lead by example with AI-assisted development; help the team evaluate outputs critically
- Drive native app excellence across iOS and Android, setting high standards for performance, stability, accessibility, and user experience
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to translate customer needs into priorities
- Build a culture of ownership and accountability; hire and develop strong engineers

REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communicator and collaborator; fluent in English
- Strong track record as a native mobile engineer with production iOS or Android apps you have personally designed, built, and shipped
- Deep hands-on expertise in native iOS development (Swift/Objective-C) or Android development (Kotlin/Java); understanding of native architecture, UI, app lifecycle, concurrency, performance, and debugging; ability to contribute production code today. Experience must be in native development—React Native or other cross-platform frameworks do not meet this requirement
- Experience leading and developing engineers, including coaching, feedback, career growth support, and performance management; ability to stay technically involved without taking over
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools; understanding of where they add value, where they fall short, and how to validate output
- Strong engineering judgment and ability to make pragmatic technical decisions balancing quality, delivery, and long-term maintainability
