Tandem Health is reimagining healthcare by building a clinician-first platform with intuitive medical notes and workflows. The company is a fast-scaling health-tech startup backed by top investors and expanding globally.
You will own Tandem's mobile apps (iOS and Android) end-to-end, from design and implementation through release and maintenance. The apps are currently built around a web view, and you'll play a key role in the strategic migration toward native development—deciding what to build natively, when, and how. You'll own App Store and Google Play submissions, review and compliance processes, and release tooling. You'll diagnose and fix native-specific bugs and performance issues, from cold start to crash handling.
While mobile is your home base, this is not a siloed role. You'll be a fullstack engineer at heart and will help across other products and platform features wherever your skills make the biggest difference. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and clinicians to turn real-world needs into great user experiences. You'll also help set the standard for how Tandem builds, tests, and ships mobile.
The role requires someone who cares about building products that people actually use, not just apps that look good in a demo. You move fast but not carelessly—you understand that in healthcare, reliability, security, and trust matter. You balance shipping quickly with building things that hold up.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong experience building and shipping mobile apps in production, preferably in a fast-moving SaaS environment
- Hands-on experience with native development on iOS and/or Android (Swift, Kotlin, or similar)
- Experience shipping and maintaining apps through the App Store and Google Play, including review and compliance cycles
- Experience working with web views and the connection between web and native
- Product mindset—you think in user outcomes, not just tickets and APIs
- Strong ownership; experience in high-pace environments where you wore multiple hats
- Strong communication skills and collaborative, low-ego way of working
BONUS:
- Experience working with healthcare systems or regulated environments
- Experience with push notifications, authentication flows, or other native device integrations
- Experience with gradual migration from web to native
- Familiarity with CI/CD and release tooling for mobile (e.g., Fastlane, TestFlight)
- Interest in AI products, especially in healthcare context
- Experience building audio-related or real-time features on mobile
