Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) Mission Systems Software team builds the distributed infrastructure that connects autonomous robotics systems—including the Fury unmanned fighter jet and Barracuda family of advanced effects—to command and control.
You will own resilient, distributed mission software from cradle-to-grave, developing the messaging, orchestration, and networking backbone that ties individual vehicles into coordinated, multi-vehicle operations. Your work will span the full range of AD&S initiatives: from early concept simulation to live operations and large-scale fleet management. You'll develop services that integrate with Lattice OS (Anduril's AI-powered operating system), coordinate fleets of vehicles in the field, and task and manage mission payloads and effects.
This role requires deep expertise in networking, distributed systems, and low-level systems programming. You'll diagnose and root-cause complex networking failures in multi-hop networks, work with packet captures and standard debugging tools, and ensure end-to-end testing of unicast and multicast data flows. The position involves up to 30% travel to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
- Ability to diagnose and root-cause arbitrary and complex networking or routing failures in multi-hop networks
- Ability to read packet captures and use standard network debugging tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, etc.)
- Experience with end-to-end testing of both unicast and multicast data flows
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/UDP, socket programming, MTU, multicast, TLS/mTLS
- Experience utilizing timing protocols such as NTP and PTP
- CCNA or equivalent experience
- High comfort working in a Linux environment
- Experience with systemd
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience with Git & GitHub
- 2–3+ years of experience using C++, Rust, or equivalent mid-level language
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Track record of high ownership and bias for action
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building or maintaining distributed systems (message buses, RPC frameworks, consensus protocols, or similar)
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming models (async/await, event loops, futures)
- Comfort working with Protocol Buffers and/or gRPC
- Experience with Linux's FRR package
- Active Secret U.S. security clearance
