Salary: USD 147,000 - 294,000 / annual
As a Member of Technical Staff 4 in the CDP (Curator Data Platform) team at Nutanix, you will design and develop reliable, efficient, and high-performance data-path software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud environments. You'll work on the Nutanix AOS (Acropolis Operating System), which powers hyper-convergence and hybrid cloud solutions.
The Curator team serves as the intelligence engine of the distributed storage fabric, responsible for background processes that ensure health, performance, and scalability of Nutanix clusters. Your work will involve designing and maintaining advanced metadata-driven scan frameworks for self-healing, data management (garbage collection, ILM), and complex data transformations at petabyte scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop reliable, efficient, high-performance data-path software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud environments
- Develop deep understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements
- Work on performance optimization, scaling, and resiliency of distributed storage systems
- Collaborate with development, test, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment
- Engage with customers and support teams to resolve production issues
- Address technical debt and drive aggressive performance goals for the platform
- Design highly efficient, distributed algorithms to manage petabyte-scale metadata while adhering to strict performance and consistency requirements
Primary technology stack: C++, Go, Python.
Work arrangement is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in San Jose to foster collaboration and team alignment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field (required)
- Familiarity with OS internals and distributed systems design/implementation best practices
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems concepts and frameworks (MapReduce, Zookeeper, consensus protocols, etc.)
- Fluency with multithreaded programming and ability to debug complex concurrency issues at scale
- Current authorization to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship
- Hungry, humble attitude with keen sense of working as part of a dynamic team
