Hiya is building trusted calling experiences for businesses and customers. The company provides branded business calling, trusted caller identity, call performance insights, customer engagement, and voice security capabilities.
You'll join a small, focused engineering team that owns Hiya Hub end-to-end—the platform connecting Hiya's products to carriers and partners globally. This is a high-ownership role where you'll manage the complete software development lifecycle of services you build: planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the full lifecycle of services from planning through production
- Running applications in production, responding to alerts, and creating new monitoring where gaps exist
- Establishing and tracking KPIs, metrics, and dashboards for service and partner integration performance
- Supporting onboarding of new carriers and partners, answering technical questions about system behavior
- Acting as a bridge between internal engineering teams and external partners on phone application distribution
- Communicating clearly between technical and business perspectives
This is an AI-native team where you'll be expected to leverage AI tools actively in daily work—knowing where they create leverage and where they don't. You'll work with high autonomy and transparency, taking ownership of problems and forming opinions while collaborating across teams.
Hiya values ownership, transparency, and a bias toward action. You'll be expected to work through ambiguity, weigh tradeoffs, and maintain high standards for quality and customer trust.
Benefits include stock options, private healthcare (Generali), private retirement/pension program (Erste Bank), $1,000 annual professional development budget, WFH equipment stipend ($500 first year), charity donation matching (up to $500/year), online English classes, gym membership, and a flexible hybrid model (2 required office days per week in Budapest).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years of professional work experience
- Familiarity with HTTP and networking fundamentals
- Working knowledge of Docker
- Strong communication skills: ability to translate between technical and business perspectives and between Hiya and external partners
- Collaborative approach and ability to work across teams
- Strong proficiency with AI tools, using them actively in daily work
DESIRABLE:
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform
- Knowledge of Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Prometheus or similar monitoring and observability tools
- DevOps or SRE experience
