As a Mechanical R&D Engineer within a 14-person R&D team, you will contribute to the design and evolution of Exotec's robotic products, including the Skypod robots, preparation stations, and conveyor systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in defining mechanical architecture for systems and subsystems
- Perform calculations and dimensioning of mechanical assemblies
- Contribute to design, development, and integration of mechatronic and automated solutions
- Oversee external mechanical design bureaus and component/parts suppliers
- Select and specify appropriate components (mechanical parts, motors, actuators, sensors, etc.)
- Supervise and validate mechanical assembly and subassembly designs in CAD (Onshape)
- Verify and validate dimensioning hypotheses and results
- Analyze technical drawings (functional dimensioning, geometric tolerances)
- Establish and monitor test plans through final validation
Requirements:
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with specialization in mechanics or mechatronics
- Approximately 2 years of experience in mechanical design
- Strong proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Competency in mechanical dimensioning, calculations, and material selection
- Foundational knowledge in mechatronics (motor, sensor, and actuator integration)
- Comfortable reading and analyzing technical drawings (functional dimensioning, geometric tolerances)
- Prior experience in industrial, robotics, or automation environments is a plus
- Curious, rigorous, and problem-solving oriented
- Comfortable working in teams within dynamic, high-growth environments
- Good level of English and French (written and oral)
