Diamond Foundry is addressing thermal limitations in AI & cloud compute, electric-vehicle power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless by producing single-crystal diamond wafers. The company has achieved unicorn status while growing profitably, securing $515M in funding and executing a multi-billion-dollar expansion plan to manufacture diamond wafers using zero-emission energy and greenhouse-gas conversion.
In this role, you will design, program, integrate, and commission automation and control systems for gas-engineering projects from early design through start-up and operational handover. You'll develop and implement automation solutions for manufacturing lines, including robotic systems, machine vision, material handling, and advanced factory technologies. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting, optimizing, and upgrading both in-house and third-party equipment to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and operator experience.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with process, mechanical, electrical, production, and maintenance teams to translate operational needs into robust technical solutions. You'll prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including control narratives, functional descriptions, electrical and automation drawings, test procedures, and operating documentation. Training end users on new systems is also part of the role.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, or closely related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or integration and commissioning of industrial equipment
- Practical experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networks, field instrumentation, and communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, or similar)
- Experience programming ABB and/or KUKA industrial robots is highly desirable
- Experience with or strong interest in robotics, machine vision, automated manufacturing equipment, and/or process plants involving gases or industrial utilities
- Fluent in Spanish and English with strong communication, problem-solving, and hands-on commissioning skills in an international, fast-paced environment
