Saronic Technologies develops autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense. Corsair is their 24-foot autonomous platform designed to operate in contested waters with modular payloads, built at scale in Austin, TX. You will own the mechanical integration and physical layout of Corsair's interior, from prototype through production-scale design. This is a core engineering role where your designs go into the water within weeks and directly impact a high-volume platform (400+ units built in 18 months). Key responsibilities: - Design mechanical integration for electronics, sensors, and payloads; own the vehicle's internal physical layout - Define mounting strategies and structural interfaces with tolerance analysis - Develop harness routing and cable management in collaboration with electrical engineering - Create CAD models, drawings, and integration documentation for production and field teams - Drive design-for-manufacturing and design-for-service decisions as the platform scales - Support prototype builds, open-water testing, and troubleshooting on the production floor and at test sites - Work cross-functionally with EE, autonomy, production, and test teams to resolve integration issues You will own payload bays and mounts for mission-kit swaps, sensor mounting that survives extreme vibration and thermal cycling, harness routing for field serviceability, structural interfaces for unprecedented loads, access panels for rapid maintenance, and internal packaging that scales from prototype to production. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field - 2+ years integrating mechanical and electrical systems - Experience with hardware packaging and subsystem integration - Proficiency in 3D CAD - Strong mechanical design fundamentals - Experience in prototype or production environments - Experience with electronics packaging or robotics systems - Familiarity with cable/harness design - Experience designing for harsh environments - Experience with maritime, aerospace, or defense systems - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Note: This role requires U.S. Person status due to access to export-controlled information.
