Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing. The company helps aerospace and defense customers build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. Following a $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding manufacturing capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, and additive manufacturing.
In this role, you will be a core member of the mechanical design team, responsible for translating customer technical data into production-ready CAD models and drawings. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Building accurate CAD models from naval prints, aerospace drawings, legacy prints, and other customer technical documentation.
- Creating internal CAD models and drawings for each manufacturing state (M-state) of a part, ensuring designs are optimized for production.
- Owning PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) data structure and moving parts through the release workflow.
- Executing customer and internal changes across part families, managing both customer geometry and all related manufacturing states.
- Partnering closely with manufacturing, tooling, programming, and inspection teams to deliver clean, parametric models that enable fast design changes when production needs them.
You will work on mission-critical hardware for aerospace and defense applications, managing your own release schedule and priorities across multiple products while maintaining the highest standards of engineering documentation and compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 3+ years of professional mechanical design experience, including production CAD models and drawings for manufactured hardware.
- Proficiency in at least one parametric 3D CAD platform (NX, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks), including building models from complex 2D drawings and from incomplete or missing drawings.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), engineering drawing standards, and PLM-based release and change control.
- Experience working directly with manufacturing teams and managing your own release schedule and priorities across multiple products.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Siemens NX on production parts.
- Experience with naval or shipyard drawings, customer technical data packages, and legacy prints.
- Experience with both naval and aerospace hardware.
- Experience creating in-process (M-state) models and drawings, and running customer and internal change processes in parallel.
- Experience with machining, welded assemblies, tooling design, and CMM or scan-based inspection.
