Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing a rocket, factory, and business from the ground up, with a focus on autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level.
The Stage Manufacturing team turns design into reality, owning the build of Terran R's primary structures. This role is not about repetitive tasks but about building the systems to build the rocket. Engineers and technicians work side by side with deep collaboration and real-time feedback to shape how the company builds better and faster.
In this Manufacturing Engineer I role, you will own Forming operations within the work center, responsible for delivery of all formed products and improving both roll forming and press brake processes. You will bring online a press brake work center and lead the development effort for the company to be capable of forming up to 20-foot sheets of material for the rocket's primary structure. You will create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across multiple high-fidelity processes, help standardize processes across the manufacturing team, and support the shop floor through live issue resolution. You will provide upstream feedback as the company innovates the next generation of manufacturing technology and deliver Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development, prototype, and flight builds.
With a manifest and launch date, the team must deliver on Terran R by solving challenges in real time, optimizing for scale, and constantly improving processes. As the vehicle evolves, so will the factory, with opportunities to apply automation, machine learning, and advanced technologies.
