Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the first line of defense on the Imaging production floor. This is a hands-on, floor-embedded sustaining role focused on the assembly, integration, and test of discrete electromechanical and optomechanical systems for advanced defense technology.
You will be embedded on the production line, rapidly responding to and resolving in-line production issues to minimize downtime. Key responsibilities include:
• Embed on the production floor to diagnose and resolve assembly, integration, and test issues in real time
• Own the response and triage process when production lines go down, coordinating with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to restore flow quickly
• Manage digital line operations, including day-to-day ERP and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) administration to ensure accurate production tracking, data integrity, and inventory flow
• Perform rapid debugging, testing, and root-cause analysis (RCA) on failing hardware and processes; implement containment and corrective/preventive actions
• Partner hands-on with technicians and assemblers daily, capturing assembly friction points and feeding improvements back into process and design
• Create, update, and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and rework procedures; ensure ECO/ECN change implementations are managed and executed correctly
• Analyze line data to identify recurring failures and bottlenecks, driving incremental improvements to yield, throughput, and first-pass quality
This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is passionate about keeping production moving while driving continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, industrial engineering, or related hard science
• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting an active production line in manufacturing, production, process, sustainment, or industrial engineering
• Demonstrated hands-on experience troubleshooting, testing, and assembling electromechanical hardware in a live production environment
• Demonstrated experience utilizing and managing data within MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP platforms to track yields, routing, and inventory
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in aerospace/defense or another regulated, high-reliability industry, including familiarity with defense terminology and processes
• Exposure to ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems
• Familiarity with optical/opto-mechanical system integration and test
• Experience in a high-growth or startup manufacturing environment combined with mature-production rigor
• Familiarity with PLM and WMS platforms
