Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. The company recently raised $1.37B in Series D funding at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding manufacturing capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more.
You will be the hands-on Manufacturing Engineer and boots-on-the-ground for additive manufacturing (AM) production at a Hadrian facility located on a customer site in Texarkana, TX. You will own the success of every build that runs through the facility, working across both polymer (FDM) and metal (LPBF) additive manufacturing systems. This is a highly technical, production-focused role where you will be responsible for machine operation, build file preparation, troubleshooting failures, quality compliance, and process standardization.
Key responsibilities include: operating AM machines onsite for both polymer and metal components; owning build success including certificates of conformance (COCs), FAIR documentation, compliance, and parts meeting specifications; prepping and adjusting build files as needed; troubleshooting build failures and production issues on-premises; creating and dispositioning non-conformance reports (NCRs); developing work instructions for each part; creating onsite standards for support removal, part cleaning, inspection, and post-processing; influencing design-for-additive-manufacturing (DfAM) inputs to improve manufacturability; assisting with LPBF and FDM machine maintenance, turnover, and setup; maintaining build records and documentation; and coordinating with the LA-based AM Applications Engineering team, Quality, and Operations to ensure onsite execution aligns with program requirements.
The role reports to the Director of AM Applications Engineering in Los Angeles but is based onsite in Texarkana, requiring independent work and strong communication with a remote leadership team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years in additive manufacturing, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or applications engineering
- Direct hands-on experience with LPBF and/or FDM systems, including materials, process parameters, machine operation, and common failure modes
- Experience owning build execution and troubleshooting build failures in a production environment
- Ability to prep and adjust build files when needed
- Familiarity with quality processes: COCs, FAIR, NCR creation and dispositioning, and parts conformance to spec
- Ability to write clear work instructions and set onsite process standards
- Hands-on DfAM understanding with ability to evaluate parts for AM suitability and manufacturability
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and inspection planning
- Ability to work independently and deliver on commitments with a leadership team based in another location
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required (ITAR compliance)
Desirable: Experience working with government or at customer sites; ability to thrive with minimal resources and oversight.
