Saronic Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for 2nd Shift to drive the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) destined for the Department of Defense. This role sits at the intersection of advanced manufacturing and cutting-edge autonomous maritime technology, offering the opportunity to shape production workflows for next-generation defense platforms. You will own process development, designing and optimizing manufacturing workflows while implementing lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Close collaboration with design and engineering teams ensures seamless translation of specifications into production reality. You'll work with suppliers and vendors to qualify materials and establish robust quality control measures, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions when issues arise. The role emphasizes continuous improvement—identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, staying current with industry trends, and incorporating emerging technologies into manufacturing processes. You'll create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards applicable to autonomous maritime systems. Training and support to production personnel is also key, as is troubleshooting issues that emerge during production. This is a hands-on engineering role with both desk-based work (process design, documentation, computer work) and occasional floor presence (standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 20 lbs). The 2nd shift schedule offers a different operational rhythm and the chance to lead manufacturing optimization during a critical production window. Saronic is a 2022-founded Austin-based company pioneering autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense—a high-growth, venture-backed player in an emerging defense-tech category. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master's degree a plus) - Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in production of complex electromechanical systems - Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime technologies (highly desirable) - Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies - Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to autonomous maritime systems - U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, green card holder, or protected asylee/refugee per 8 U.S.C. 1324b)
