Podium is seeking a Manager of Site Reliability Engineering to lead a team building and operating infrastructure that scales reliably at their high-growth AI agent platform. The company has crossed $100M in AI Agent ARR in under 24 months, scaling 300% year-over-year, and is trusted by 60,000+ businesses across Auto, Home Services, and Aesthetics.
In this role, you will manage a team of SREs focused on preventing incidents and building durable systems. You'll own production system availability and performance end-to-end, set SLI/SLO/SLA standards, run incident management and postmortem processes, and drive automation to reduce toil. A key differentiator: you'll integrate AI-augmented operations into the SRE workflow—using AI agents to proactively surface degraded services, anomalous error rates, and other issues before they page humans; evaluating and tuning LLM-based tooling to reduce false positives; and automating incident summarization and root-cause suggestions while knowing when to defer to human judgment.
You'll also partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Security to bake reliability into the SDLC from the start, represent SRE in architecture reviews, translate reliability metrics into business language for leadership, and maintain runbooks, playbooks, and continuous improvement in monitoring and alerting.
On the people side, you'll coach and mentor SREs on real career development, hire and retain strong engineers, foster a blameless postmortem culture, and drive day-to-day project management including standups, ticket grooming, and stakeholder visibility.
You should be equally comfortable in 1:1 coaching and in the middle of a SEV-1 incident. You think strategically but stay hands-on, own outcomes especially during messy incidents, triage ruthlessly when everything feels urgent, trust data over gut feel, and lead like you're on the team, not above it.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
- 2+ years leading or managing a team
- Deep familiarity with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), plus Kubernetes/Docker
- Real experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, ClickHouse)
- Comfort with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Track record of owning incident management and building a genuine postmortem culture
- Strong scripting/programming chops (Python, Go, or similar)
- Ability to explain complex technical problems to non-technical stakeholders
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience implementing telephony solutions in-house
- Chaos engineering experience
- Managing on-call across distributed or global teams
- Exposure to security/compliance-adjacent reliability work (SOC2, ISO 27001)
- History of scaling an SRE function as a company grows
