Datadog is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Language Platform team, which owns the company's SDKs—a core technical moat and delivery vehicle for Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and related observability products. The SDKs are deployed across 9 supported languages and serve as the foundation for APM, Application Security Management, Profiling, Data Stream Monitoring, and other service-based products.
In this role, you will lead a team of 4–8 library engineers, coaching and developing them while empowering senior individual contributors to own technical outcomes. You'll be responsible for team delivery, productivity, planning, and milestone management. You'll collaborate closely with Product teams to reshape and grow platform capabilities, define and deliver industry-leading open-source zero-touch APM instrumentation, and drive alignment across language teams, product, and backend organizations.
You'll stay technically close to the work—applying strong technical judgment, setting high quality standards, contributing code where it matters most, and maintaining architectural excellence. You'll also shape team identity and culture while building strong cross-functional relationships.
Datadog operates as a hybrid workplace, valuing office culture for collaboration and creativity while supporting work-life harmony.
