Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Hardware Test Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing test engineering team for its Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) product line. The role combines strategic oversight and tactical management of production test systems supporting high-volume defense hardware products.
You will direct the manufacturing test engineering team, setting objectives, guiding initiatives, and assessing outcomes. Key responsibilities include overseeing and improving manufacturing test strategy for each product to ensure scalable operations across Anduril, transitioning from pre-production (LRIP) to full-scale output (FRP). You will collaborate with product SEIT and development engineering teams on design testability and seamless production integration.
You will strategize and implement advancements in manufacturing testing, focusing on automation, uniformity, and operational streamlining. This includes maintaining test capabilities across multiple products—from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to key component-level in-process validation. You will evaluate test data, compile findings, and identify opportunities for product and process enhancements.
Additional responsibilities include communicating strategic visions to key stakeholders, leading procurement and implementation of new test equipment with cost-benefit and ROI analyses, and championing initiatives that enhance safety, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase productivity. You will cultivate a culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and accountability, serve as the technical authority for manufacturing test matters, and design proactive maintenance and calibration protocols for test equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2+ years as a people manager leading manufacturing test engineering or adjacent fields
- Experience with Linux, C#, Python, NixOS, LabView, or other test automation tools
- Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc.
- Solid experience with PCBA/electronic assembly testing and knowledge of testing standards (acceptance testing, EOL testing, ESS testing)
- Proficiency in using electronic and RF test equipment
- Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis of non-conforming electro-mechanical hardware
- Familiarity with Test Execution Systems (TES), Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Experience managing projects that integrate electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development of manufacturing test systems and teams
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, MATLAB, and test automation
- Knowledge of PCBA design and mechanical design
- Familiarity with various hardware communication protocols
- Experience designing HASS & ESS-related tests (Thermal, Vibration, etc.)
- Familiarity with AI tools
