Salary: USD 117,000 - 170,000 / annual

Fanatics is a global digital sports platform serving over 100 million sports fans through commerce (licensed gear, jerseys, apparel), collectibles (physical and digital trading cards), and betting/gaming. The company operates 2,000+ retail locations and partners with ~900 sports properties. You will lead the analytical backbone of the Operations Department, managing a small team of 2–3 analysts while remaining hands-on with complex analytical work. This is roughly a 50/50 split between people management and individual contribution. As a manager, you will: - Manage, coach, and develop analysts through goal-setting, feedback, performance management, and career development - Set and enforce technical standards by reviewing SQL, dbt models, dashboards, and analyses - Prioritize the team's work queue across Ops stakeholder requests (CX, Fraud, Payments, WFM, VIP), escalating tradeoffs to the Sr. Manager of Strategic Operations As an individual contributor, you will: - Lead complex, cross-functional analytical initiatives end-to-end, from ambiguous business problems through scoping, analysis, and decision-ready recommendations - Diagnose root causes in data and translate findings into concrete recommendations - Lead scenario analysis and impact sizing for product initiatives, operational changes, and staffing decisions - Own the quality and reliability of dbt models and analytical datasets - Set standards for Ops dashboards and reporting with clear KPIs and documented assumptions - Present findings to operational stakeholders and senior leadership - Replace recurring manual data pulls with maintainable reporting, automation, and alerting The team is actively building toward an AI-first operating model. You will: - Partner on the Ops analytics AI roadmap, bringing an analytics perspective to use-case prioritization and data readiness - Provide trusted data, metrics, and evaluation frameworks to support agent development - Track and report on deployed agent performance against Ops goals - Help establish where AI can be trusted in analytical workflows versus where human judgment should remain You'll report to the Sr. Manager of Strategic Operations, who provides strategic direction and executive alignment. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years in analytics, business intelligence, data analytics, or strategic operations - 2+ years directly managing analysts as direct reports, including performance management, hiring, and career development (not a first-time manager role) - Advanced, hands-on SQL: you write, QA, and optimize complex queries; review others' work at that level. Role includes a live technical exercise. - Working fluency in dbt: build and review models, make sound design decisions, identify issues - Demonstrated experience owning complex, cross-functional projects end-to-end from ambiguous ask to stakeholder-ready recommendation - Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Sigma, Tableau, or comparable tool - Strong stakeholder management: communicate complex problems clearly to senior leaders; propose alternative approaches when data warrants - High attention to detail: catch data quality issues before they surface in leadership reporting PREFERRED: - Experience supporting AI/ML workflows, agent builds, or automation initiatives - Python or similar scripting language for data manipulation and automation - Familiarity with operational KPIs across customer support, fraud, payments, or workforce management - Experience in gaming, fintech, or sports - Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field
