Salary: USD 116,000 - 145,000 / annual
Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems. The Manager, Corporate Accounting will lead core corporate accounting operations at the company's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Finance leadership team.
In this role, you will own and streamline the end-to-end month-end close process across procure-to-pay, fixed assets, equity, leases, and treasury. You'll drive audit readiness for quarterly reviews and annual external audits, ensuring clean execution and seamless alignment with SEC reporting deadlines. You'll partner on high-impact projects including ERP enhancements, automation, and internal reporting upgrades to scale the accounting infrastructure as the company grows. You'll also manage, support, and develop a high-performing corporate accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
You'll serve as a critical business partner across Finance, Legal, and Tax to support Rocket Lab's rapid operational scale. The ideal candidate is agile, highly efficient, and collaborative—someone with strong technical fundamentals and a genuine passion for optimizing workflows.
Note: This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, with occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas. Due to ITAR regulations governing U.S. space technology exports, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee/asylee, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or Commerce.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience with demonstrated team leadership and process improvement success
- Deep proficiency in US GAAP with proven ability to translate technical accounting principles into efficient, real-world operational workflows
- CPA license (or equivalent)
NICE TO HAVE:
- Foundation in public accounting combined with industry experience (aerospace or manufacturing preferred)
- Experience with enterprise-level ERP systems (Infor, SAP, NetSuite)
- Collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving and team management
