Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Manager, Control Design & Assurance to strengthen the company's enterprise-wide compliance framework. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Compliance, you will partner with first-line business teams across FBG's operational units and product lines to design, implement, and validate compliance controls while maintaining independent assurance over their effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include advising first-line control owners on practical, sustainable control design and implementation; evaluating both design and operational effectiveness of controls; identifying gaps and weaknesses; recommending and coordinating remediation; and promoting clear ownership and accountability throughout the control lifecycle. You will develop and execute a structured, risk-based compliance testing program aligned with enterprise risk assessments, design control effectiveness testing methodologies, and maintain a defensible compliance testing framework with clear documentation standards.
You will collaborate across FBG with business unit leaders, product teams, Legal, and Regulatory Compliance to operationalize a mature, scalable compliance program that proactively mitigates legal, regulatory, and ethical risks. This includes supporting new product launches by translating compliance obligations into documented, operationally effective controls. Additional responsibilities include conducting targeted compliance investigations, developing remediation plans, tracking remediation validation, managing multiple control projects with clear communication, and promoting a culture of compliance ownership among first-line teams.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled in documentation. You will bring thoughtful, practical solutions while maintaining professional independence, challenging assumptions, identifying root causes, and driving measurable improvements. You are comfortable partnering with the business while maintaining objectivity and defensibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in compliance testing, internal audit, risk management, control design, or quality assurance within a regulated industry
- Experience partnering with first-line business teams to design, implement, document, or enhance internal controls
- Strong understanding of internal controls, risk-based testing methodologies, control ownership, and remediation management
- Comfort using AI tools and implementing AI-enabled solutions to improve control design, monitoring, testing, or documentation
- Experience within online gaming, casino, or sportsbook industry preferred
- Excellent written communication skills; ability to communicate complex findings clearly and objectively to internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
- Experience communicating with senior executives and government authorities
- Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and defensible documentation
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity as organization scales
- Strong independence and professional skepticism, balanced with practical collaboration
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or related field
