Salary: USD 125,000 - 160,000 / annual
Cala Health is a medical device company pioneering non-invasive prescription therapies for chronic diseases, starting with hand tremor treatment (Cala kIQ) and expanding into neurology, cardiology, and beyond.
The Manager, Compliance and Contracts reports to the General Counsel and is responsible for managing all Durable Medical Equipment (DME) licenses, overseeing the company's contract portfolio, and ensuring operations comply with legal regulations and internal policies. This role requires high independence and cross-functional collaboration with sales & marketing, R&D, clinical, and business systems teams.
Key responsibilities include:
**Compliance:**
- Manage all DME licenses and CMS enrollment
- Develop, implement, and manage compliance programs in partnership with General Counsel
- Maintain compliance calendars and coordinate responses to auditors and regulators
- Monitor company procedures for adherence to compliance standards
- Provide training and guidance to employees on new regulations and compliance measures
**Contracts:**
- Oversee all aspects of the company's contracts, including tracking renewals, expirations, and obligations
- Ensure legal compliance and alignment with company policies in all contract matters
- Manage contract creation, execution, and analysis to optimize operational and financial performance
- Provide guidance on contract terms and support negotiations
- Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation solutions
- Collaborate across departments to ensure contracts align with company objectives
- Provide guidance and support to team members on contract-related matters
**Requirements:**
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree; Paralegal certificate preferred
- 5+ years of corporate paralegal experience
- Experience in contracts, corporate governance, and compliance preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Paralegal certificate
- Certification in Contract Management
- Healthcare and MedTech industry experience
- Knowledge of DME or MedTech industry laws and regulations
- Proven track record managing complex contracts and achieving financial or operational improvements
- Strong collaboration and team guidance abilities
