As Manager, Business Development in Montreal, you will build and lead a BDR (Business Development Representative) team responsible for initiating customer conversations and generating pipeline. You report to the Director of Business Development and own the full team lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, development, and accountability to pipeline targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and ramping a high-performing BDR team that consistently hits pipeline targets; setting hiring standards and running 90-day onboarding
- Establishing a predictable outbound motion through weekly coaching rhythms, behavioral inspection, and root-cause analysis of misses
- Developing and iterating the outbound playbook: ICP definition, messaging, sequences, and sales stack (Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo)
- Creating clear career paths for reps, including promotion to Account Executive or team lead roles
- Aligning with Marketing and Sales on ICP evolution, campaign activation, and pipeline handoffs; holding teams accountable to outcomes
Within 12 months, your team will be fully ramped and performing, with predictable pipeline and clear development trajectories for each rep.
MaintainX's mission is to keep the physical world running by providing tools for maintenance teams in factories, fleets, hospitals, and campuses. The role is in-person, 5 days per week in Montreal.
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years leading a BDR or SDR team at a SaaS or technology company, with documented attainment against team targets
- A repeatable BDR hiring process; ability to identify A-players consistently
- Proven ability to coach rep behavior and drive output changes, not just report metrics
- Data fluency: ability to pull reports independently, read pipeline signals proactively, and coach to leading indicators
- Track record of holding Marketing and Sales operations accountable to pipeline outcomes, not intentions
- Experience writing and building playbooks in environments with limited existing structure
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience selling into industrial, manufacturing, or operations buyers
- Familiarity with CMMS or EAM software categories
