Modjo is building Europe's leading AI platform for sales teams, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Paris. The company develops an AI agent system that unifies fragmented sales data from CRMs, emails, sales tools, and customer interactions to help sales teams prepare meetings, manage objections, prioritize actions, and advance deals. Modjo is positioned as a sovereign European alternative with data hosted in Europe.
In this role, you will be at the core of building, maintaining, and scaling the LLM and agentic features that power Modjo's product. Your primary focus will be the agentic system with emphasis on model orchestration, tool execution, evaluation, reliability, and production performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and optimize the agentic stack powering conversational and autonomous agents with focus on reliability, scalability, and low latency in production
- Architect and maintain end-to-end LLM features: model orchestration, routing, monitoring, logging, and evaluation
- Develop and improve ML infrastructure: observability, load balancing, scaling patterns, and deployment workflows
- Build robust datasets and evaluation pipelines for both deterministic systems (ASR) and non-deterministic systems (LLMs and agents) to continuously improve quality
- Collaborate with Software Engineers to implement scalable, observable, and automated infrastructure around ML services
- Work closely with Product Managers to assess feasibility, refine specifications, and reliably deliver ML features
- Contribute to technical strategy: model and tool selection, architectural decisions, and long-term roadmap for the agentic platform
- Stay current with latest research, frameworks, and open-source developments in LLMs, agentic systems, and evaluation methodologies
The company values builders who take ownership, transform ambiguity into action, and focus on creating real impact. They move quickly, test, learn, and iterate. They prioritize excellence without waiting for perfection, stay close to users, and appreciate open feedback and clear communication.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in ML Engineering or Data Science
- Strong Python proficiency (bonus: experience with lower-level languages like Java or C; pure scripting profiles insufficient)
- Solid ML fundamentals: model types, data science best practices, evaluation methods
- Strong LLM expertise: prompt design, evaluation, cost/performance trade-offs
- Experience with agentic systems: tool execution, workflows, memory architectures, LangChain/LangGraph or equivalent
- Exposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol), DeepEval, FastAPI, Uvicorn
- Understanding of NLP concepts: transcription, embeddings, language understanding
- Genuine intellectual curiosity: you research, dig into topics, and form your own perspective
- Ownership mindset and strong communication: you don't get stuck, ask the right questions, and drive progress forward
