Salary: USD 210,000 - 275,000 / annual
Liftoff is an AI-powered performance marketing platform for the mobile app economy. As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop and maintain machine learning models that are integral to production decision-making systems and directly influence business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain ML models that drive core business decisions
- Adopt or build new technologies for training and serving ML models (e.g., support for large models, improved developer velocity)
- Monitor latest ML research for functional ideas the team could implement
- Optimize ML pipelines for real-time and batch processing at scale
- Track model performance, detect drift, and automate retraining processes
- Communicate statistical and ML concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with world-class engineers from diverse backgrounds
- Contribute to an engineering excellence culture emphasizing state-of-the-art tools, risk-driven testing, explainable systems, and rigorous code review
Liftoff's solutions support over 6,600 mobile businesses across 74 countries in gaming, social, finance, ecommerce, and entertainment. The company is remote-first with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City. This role is eligible for full-time remote work in CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, UT, and WA. Employees are expected to attend in-person team gatherings at least once per quarter.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of industry experience applying machine learning (including neural networks) to large-scale problems
- Experience with recommendation systems
- Hands-on experience with deep neural networks in production at scale
- Solid engineering and coding skills
- Track record of well-executed, timely project delivery
- Collaborative mindset; sets ego aside in pursuit of the best solution
- B.S. or higher in Machine Learning, Math, Physics, or similar field (PhD a plus)
- Experience with AdTech is a solid plus
