Hypersonica is building Europe's hypersonic defence capability. This Loads Engineer role is central to the structural integrity and flight safety of advanced launch vehicles and aerospace systems.
You will own the complete loads engineering lifecycle:
**Load Analysis & Definition:** Calculate and establish static and dynamic design load cases across all flight phases—transportation, launchpad operations, engine ignition, atmospheric ascent (aerodynamic loads), staging, re-entry, and landing.
**Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA):** Build and execute complex mathematical simulation models by coupling launch vehicle and payload models to predict critical flight environments and transient events.
**Modeling & Simulation:** Develop and optimize finite element models (FEM) and perform structural dynamics analyses, including transient, sinusoidal, random vibration (PSD), gusts, and acoustic response analyses.
**Testing & Validation:** Design, oversee, and analyze data from physical tests (modal surveys, vibration, shock testing) and correlate simulation models with actual flight telemetry data.
Hypersonica is a small, elite team where every individual shapes the company's direction. You'll work autonomously with high ownership, collaborate daily with top experts across engineering and defence, and see your ideas implemented quickly. The environment is fast-paced, mission-driven, and values clarity, integrity, and excellence. Compensation is competitive with real share options aligned to responsibility and impact.
**Requirements:**
- University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with strong focus on structural dynamics or continuum mechanics
- Proven experience in structural loads definition, structural dynamics, or aeroelasticity, ideally within launch vehicles, satellites, or missiles
- Deep understanding of structural dynamics, vibration/shock environments, and acoustic phenomena
- Proficiency with commercial FEA solvers (Optistruct) and pre-/post-processors (HyperMesh)
