Codasip is redefining computing through cyber-resilient semiconductor architectures, with a strategic focus on CHERI-enabled technologies and architecture-first security solutions. The company is building next-generation processors where security is embedded at the core by design. You will join the Embedded Software team as a Senior LLVM Compiler Engineer, responsible for developing and enhancing the LLVM compiler to support Codasip's cutting-edge processor technologies and custom CPU cores. This is a technically challenging role with broad scope and impact. Key responsibilities: - Customize and optimize LLVM to support Codasip's standard and customized embedded CPU cores, including RISC-V cores and custom hardware extensions or entirely new processor architectures developed using Codasip Studio EDA tool - Provide compiler expertise to the Embedded Software team to optimize software performance - Support processor design teams with compiler guidance on microarchitectural design and optimization - Explore compiler technology for novel compute architectures and emerging technologies - Collaborate with the Codasip Studio EDA tool compiler team to enhance the tool's compiler capabilities - Act as a software technical expert, providing expert advice to internal and external customers - Mentor junior team members and spread knowledge and experience within the team The role balances short-term customer-driven projects with longer-term strategic software product development. You will have high impact and visibility both within Codasip and in the broader RISC-V ecosystem. Requirements: - In-depth knowledge of the LLVM compiler - Knowledge of the C/C++ clang frontend - Knowledge of high-level hardware microarchitecture and its effects on software performance - Flexible and adaptable attitude to work - Desire to learn and positively influence the technical development of others - Working rights in the UK (mandatory) Highly desirable: - Experience with RISC-V technologies - Experience implementing complex software security technologies in the compiler (e.g., CHERI) - Rust language compiler experience - Ability to communicate effectively at both technical and management levels
