Salary: USD 124,125 - 165,500 / annual
Hex Technologies is seeking a Legal Operations Manager to own and scale the company's legal operating system as it grows. This is a builder role focused on contract operations, legal governance, and AI-powered workflow automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) adoption and enablement, enabling the revenue team to self-serve on standard deals
- Own workflow optimization, templates, and playbooks as deal structures and products evolve
- Perform first-pass review and redlining of standard agreements; draft from templates as volume requires
- Build and own structured intake processes for legal workstreams across the company
- Design and implement AI-powered workflows, agents, and automations to replace manual processes
- Maintain the legal governance record, including privacy registers, AI inventory, and compliance calendars
- Train cross-functional teams on self-service tools and escalation paths
- Manage outside counsel relationships and the legal tech stack
The role sits at the intersection of data, AI, and collaboration. You'll work with AI tooling as the default way things get done—building agents and automations to move faster, not as a side project.
Nice-to-have experience includes navigating exponential growth, corporate governance (entity management, board materials, annual filings), familiarity with Hex's product, and strong opinions about organizing Notion workspaces.
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years in legal operations, paralegal work, or contract management, with at least 1–2 years in-house at a tech or SaaS company
- Demonstrated experience implementing or rebuilding a CLM system (Ironclad preferred), designing intake workflows, and building reporting infrastructure
- Experience reviewing and redlining commercial agreements on both sell-side and buy-side
- Comfort with AI and automation as a natural part of daily work; familiarity with AI-assisted legal tools, LLMs, and automation platforms; willingness to experiment with emerging tools (this is a core requirement, not optional)
- Ability to operate with autonomy in a role with significant white space
- Good judgment about what you can handle versus what requires a lawyer
- Genuine care about whether people actually use what you build
