You will serve as Legal Operations & Compliance Manager, building and running the operational backbone of the Legal function. This is a manager-level role responsible for systems, processes, and records that enable a small Legal team to support a fast-growing global business. Key responsibilities include: - Owning legal intake, triage, matter tracking, workflow administration, and status reporting - Identifying opportunities to replace manual work with standardized workflows, self-service tools, or automation - Serving as operational owner of the existing contract lifecycle management (CLM) system and leading requirements gathering for future legal technology - Maintaining corporate records, governance calendars, and supporting board/committee meetings, filings, and entity administration - Maintaining a consolidated compliance calendar covering policies, training, audits, certifications, filings, assessments, and recurring reviews - Coordinating compliance projects across Legal, Security, Engineering, Product, Finance, People, and other operational teams - Supporting legal and administrative components of SOC 2, CMMC, privacy, accessibility, AI governance, and similar initiatives - Maintaining policy inventories, review cycles, approval records, version histories, and employee acknowledgments - Maintaining Legal playbooks, standard operating procedures, decision trees, training materials, precedents, and internal guidance - Coordinating cross-functional Legal projects and ensuring decisions, owners, deadlines, and follow-up actions are documented - Serving as a responsive point of contact for questions regarding Legal processes, intake, contract status, signatures, records, and documentation - Training employees on Legal systems and workflows The role requires up to 10% travel annually for conferences, off-site meetings, and business-related events, and may require participation in on-site interviews and in-person onboarding. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years in legal operations, senior paralegal, corporate governance, contract operations, or compliance operations, ideally in-house at a tech/software/AI company - Track record of designing and owning processes, not just administering existing ones - Experience with a CLM or matter-management system, contract repositories/metadata/renewals, and corporate governance recordkeeping - Experience tracking outside-counsel budgets, invoices, or matter data - Strong project management across functions, high attention to detail, and good judgment on when to escalate to an attorney - Comfort with confidential and privileged information, and ability to work autonomously while keeping Legal leadership informed PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Paralegal certificate, project management credential, or legal-ops certification - Experience with SpotDraft, Ironclad, DocuSign, HubSpot, Carta, or similar applications - Experience supporting privacy, security, AI, or accessibility compliance programs (SOC 2, CMMC, GDPR) - Experience supporting an international business or a venture-backed Series B/C company
