Langdock is a secure, model-agnostic AI platform used by over 10,000 companies—from fast-growing startups to Europe's largest enterprises—to integrate leading AI models across their organizations. The company has scaled from €1M to €50M+ ARR and achieved profitability. As Legal Counsel, you will own legal matters end-to-end for a high-growth AI company operating in a heavily regulated space. Your responsibilities include: **Customer-Facing Work:** Negotiate enterprise contracts from initial call to signature, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), security terms, AI-specific clauses, and regulatory addenda (e.g., DORA for financial services). You will be the person who gets deals signed. **Regulatory Translation:** Interpret and translate emerging regulations—AI Act, DORA, NIS2, the Data Act, and sector-specific rules—into concrete product and contractual requirements. This is a core part of advising customers and shaping product development. **Infrastructure & Cloud:** Shape contracts for data center services and new cloud offerings, covering power, hardware, and customer-facing terms. **Internal Operations:** Advise on employment law, manage corporate governance, own the data protection program, and maintain ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance. **AI-Powered Legal Work:** Build and maintain AI agents, playbooks, and evaluation frameworks within Langdock's platform to automate and improve legal workflows. You will be one of the product's most demanding users, with direct feedback loops to the product team. **Team & Culture:** Work with a small, high-ambition team with low egos. The environment is calm but intense, based in Berlin with in-person collaboration. The role sits at the intersection of legal expertise and AI adoption—helping regulated enterprises adopt AI safely and effectively. You will shape how legal operates at a company that is genuinely solving a novel problem in the AI era. **Requirements:** - Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years of in-house experience at a technology company or equivalent advisory experience - Demonstrated experience negotiating SaaS agreements and DPAs with enterprise counterparties - Evidence of building something (agent, workflow, clause library, script, template system) that created measurable change - Technical literacy: understanding of how SaaS products are built (databases, APIs, integrations, basic architecture) - Strong written and verbal reasoning; ability to assess which risks should block a deal or feature - Fluent in German and English (German required for employment law and contracts; English for team and customer-facing work) - Collaborative mindset and genuine care for colleagues
