Ravio is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company building a modern, real-time compensation solution to help companies make better pay decisions. We're hiring our first dedicated in-house Legal Counsel to own our legal and compliance function as we scale globally. You'll be the primary legal point of contact for Ravio's leadership team, with broad responsibility across contracts, data protection, governance, and compliance operations. Your key responsibilities include: **Contracts & Commercial:** Oversee corporate actions (shareholder matters, board documentation, M&A/licensing), handle employment-related legal matters, maintain our Service Agreement, DPA and custom data terms, manage the Contract Amendments Tracker, and provide legal review of corporate and commercial contracting workflows. **Data Protection & Privacy:** Ensure our Technical and Organisational Measures and Data Processing Provisions remain accurate as the product evolves, keep our Privacy Policy current, update candidate and employee privacy notices, and maintain our DPIA and ROPA documentation. **Governance & External Relationships:** Act as a named recipient for the whistleblowing process, maintain trademark records, manage the relationship with external legal counsel, and oversee ICO registration renewal. **Compliance & Audit Support:** Coordinate our SOC 2 and ISO certification cycles, manage Vanta administration, triage due diligence and security questionnaires, and support other compliance projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll work independently backed by an external law firm retainer for specialist work. You'll have real scope to shape how the legal and compliance function grows at Ravio. You'll work closely with Commercial, Product, People, and Data teams to keep our legal position current. **Requirements:** - Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent, with a few years' post-qualification experience (PQE); not fresh from training contract, but not a senior/lead position - Strong working knowledge of UK/EU data protection and privacy law (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018) and application to B2B SaaS - Genuinely comfortable with hands-on compliance and audit operations alongside legal advisory work - Able to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, DPAs, and customer terms with minimal oversight - Pragmatic, commercial approach with strong stakeholder management skills - Comfortable managing external counsel relationships and getting value from retainers - Able to be the sole in-house legal hire initially and build processes from scratch **Nice to Have:** - Familiarity with SOC 2/ISO frameworks or GRC tools such as Vanta - Recognised privacy qualification (e.g., IAPP CIPP/E) - Experience with DORA or cross-border regulatory frameworks - In-house experience at a SaaS or technology business
