You will join as the second legal hire, working alongside the General Counsel and VP of Operations as a true generalist. The role is designed for someone willing to be scrappy, learn quickly, tackle ambiguous problems, and take ownership across multiple domains.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating enterprise customer agreements and commercial contracts, working closely with Sales to drive deals from origination through closing
- Advising on compliance matters spanning corporate governance, employment law, data privacy, AI regulation, and other regulatory areas
- Supporting corporate governance workstreams including entity management, board matters, and stockholder issues
- Partnering with the People & Culture team on policy rollouts and employment-related matters
- Supporting M&A and financing processes, including due diligence workstreams
- Managing cap table and equity plan documentation
- Coordinating with outside counsel on legal projects
- Partnering directly with Product, Engineering, Sales, HR, and Finance to ensure legal alignment
- Preparing internal legal training materials, documentation, and guidelines
The immediate priority is the EMEA commercial pipeline, but the role will expand based on business needs and your willingness to grow. This is a generalist position with no strict guardrails.
The company offers a flexible, remote-first environment with offices in New York, Amsterdam, and Munich, plus €60/month phone and internet allowance and location-specific benefits.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience in demanding roles with significant early responsibility
- Law degree and active license to practice in an EMEA jurisdiction
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with particular depth in B2B SaaS commercial agreements
- EU and international data privacy experience
- Prior experience working with or within international companies, ideally US-based tech or SaaS businesses
- Strong communication skills and social intelligence to build trust across globally dispersed teams and coordinate complex cross-functional issues
- Low-ego, high-ownership approach and willingness to learn on the fly
