ARQ is a fast-growing fintech building infrastructure to move value seamlessly across borders. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems powering innovative financial products.
You'll work on greenfield development and improvements to existing systems, including building REST APIs, engineering microservices, and evolving critical business systems such as card payments, treasury management, transaction booking, and crypto liquidity. The technology stack is primarily Java 25 on the backend with Postgres databases, using Spring Boot for delivery. The team emphasizes clean code, maintainability, and fast iteration through test-driven development (TDD), domain-driven design (DDD), and continuous integration & delivery practices.
You'll collaborate with a talented team to create solutions that drive financial inclusion and transform how people manage money globally. This is an opportunity to shape the product, culture, and growth of an early-stage, high-impact fintech.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrable experience in backend development with fluency in Java
- Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering/Science disciplines
- Quick learner with ambitious, results-driven personality and excellent communication skills (English fluency, verbal and written)
- Track record of building complex products used by millions in hypergrowth startups
