The Financial Services division builds money products for restaurants and merchants: payments, capital, and cashflow tools. The team operates in a regulated environment (SAMA in Saudi Arabia, expanding to UAE) with emphasis on reliability, security, and correctness while moving fast to ship products merchants value.
In this role, you will own problems end-to-end, taking ambiguous business problems from discovery through design, build, launch, and iteration across backend services, APIs, data, and frontend as needed. You'll identify gaps in both merchant workflows and technical systems—confusing flows, unscalable processes, services that won't handle 10x volume—and drive fixes proactively. You'll partner with Product, Design, Risk, and Compliance to shape product direction, challenge requirements, and bring data to conversations.
You'll set the technical bar for systems handling real money, ensuring idempotency, consistency, auditability, security, and observability from day one. You'll lead the team's AI-first shift, using AI tools and agents to multiply your output and helping the team adopt them well. You'll identify where AI can improve products and engineering workflows, then build it. You'll mentor senior and mid-level engineers, raise the quality of design and code reviews, and make the people around you better. You'll evaluate and adopt languages, frameworks, and platforms based on the problem, not habit.

**Requirements:**
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping and owning production systems
- Genuine full-stack ability: comfortable designing backend services and data models, and building solid, usable frontends
- Product mindset: care about user and business outcome, not just the ticket; can explain why something should be built, not only how
- Technology-agnostic: worked across multiple languages and stacks, pick up new ones quickly
- AI-first habits: use AI coding assistants, agents, and LLM APIs daily with opinions about where they help and where they don't
- Strong systems thinking: distributed systems, APIs, databases, and trade-offs between them
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High ownership and comfort with ambiguity
**Nice to have:**
- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or other regulated domains (PCI DSS, SAMA, or similar)
- Experience building AI-powered product features (LLM integrations, RAG, agents, evaluation)
- Cloud infrastructure and DevOps experience (containers, CI/CD, observability)
- Experience with B2B or merchant-facing products
