Salary: USD 176,000 - 264,000 / annual
Klaviyo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for CI/CD to define and drive the technical roadmap for the company's software pipeline infrastructure. In this role, you will own the CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation that enable every engineer to ship code efficiently and safely at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define the long-term architectural vision for CI/CD pipelines and frameworks across backend and frontend stacks, ensuring systems are reliable and world-class in ease of adoption.
• Architect fast, reliable deployment and rollback strategies, owning end-to-end delivery pipelines with focus on security, efficiency, and compliance from code commit to production.
• Establish engineering standards for repositories, defining benchmarks for pull requests, cycle time, velocity, code quality metrics, and systemic reliability across all teams.
• Design and build next-generation tooling to simplify CI/CD pipelines, bringing all teams and repositories up to best-in-class standards at scale.
• Spearhead efforts to leverage AI within the CI/CD lifecycle and accelerate internal development efforts using emerging AI tools.
• Act as a technical consultant to feature teams, solving complex engineering challenges and using root-cause analysis from incidents to drive pillar-wide velocity improvements.
• Oversee the health and performance of the entire CI/CD pipeline, taking ultimate responsibility for the stability of the environment that hundreds of engineers depend on daily.

Requirements:
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a history of leading complex, high-impact technical projects. You are a hands-on lead who stays close to the code while steering broader vision.
• Master of root-cause analysis—you hunt down systemic failures, excel at debugging deep-stack issues, and transform lessons into automated preventions.
• Full-stack architect comfortable designing systems across the stack, from React-based quality dashboards to Python services for data seeding, with understanding of how to build for scale.
• Passionate about the intersection of AI and software quality with a clear perspective on how AI can automate testing and accelerate the SDLC. You have experimented with AI in work or personal projects and are excited to dive in and learn fast.
• Deep experience with modern CI/CD tools and sophisticated understanding of how to integrate automated testing into high-frequency deployment pipelines.
• Extreme ownership mentality—you take pride in end-to-end platform health, are proactive in identifying technical debt, and are a relentless advocate for engineering excellence.
