In this role, you will own the intersection of reliability and security across the organization, partnering with platform, data, QA, and product engineering teams. You'll be responsible for the tooling, monitoring, alerting, emergency response, and systems design that the entire organization depends on.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with platform, data, QA, and product teams to understand their automation, infrastructure, monitoring, and security needs
- Building tooling and processes to solve identified problems
- Designing and leading an agentic vulnerability detection and mitigation pipeline that scans, triages, and proposes fixes with human-in-the-loop guardrails
- Embedding security into the development lifecycle, including threat modeling, supply-chain hygiene, secrets management, and secure-by-default patterns
- Leading security and reliability incident response as first-class operational concerns
- Defining company-level SLAs, SLOs, and Error Budgets, and helping teams set their own
- Steering system design toward shared tooling and decisions that ensure reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability
- Joining the on-call rotation to spot process gaps and coach on response
- Acting as a senior escalation for infrastructure and security issues while coaching teams
- Owning AWS infrastructure and setting long-term strategy for reliability and security posture
This is fundamentally a coaching and consulting role. You'll identify needs in reliability and security and empower peer developers to improve them. The company values entrepreneurial spirit, challenge with respect, resilience, anticipating customer needs, working through uncertainty, and honest self-awareness.
Requirements:
- Senior-to-staff level experience as an SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineer, owning production reliability at scale
- Hands-on application and/or infrastructure security experience; sufficient to lead security conversations independently
- Practical experience building with LLMs and agentic systems, with shipped real products and understanding of failure modes and where human oversight is critical
- Strong software engineering fundamentals; you build tools and systems, not just configure them
- Coaching instinct: you measure impact by how much you raise the teams around you
