As Lead Forward Deployed Engineer, you will lead complex enterprise deployments from scoping through production, working directly with Pelico's leadership and senior executives at the company's largest customers. You'll design and deliver mission-critical AI systems that sit at the core of aerospace and advanced manufacturing operations, turning AI capabilities into measurable, repeatable operational outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end enterprise deployments and managing the Forward Deployed function
- Building and shipping production-grade AI and data systems using Java, Python, SQL, and cloud platforms
- Standing up modern data stacks, architecting scalable data pipelines, and deploying AI-powered agents
- Integrating with ERP, MES, PLM, and broader industrial ecosystems
- Translating operational ambiguity into structured execution while engaging directly with enterprise customers
- Formalizing best practices and scaling the Forward Deployed team
You'll work in a hybrid model across Miami, Austin, or Boston offices with flexibility. The role offers meaningful equity, competitive salary, health/dental/vision coverage, learning & development budget, and direct engagement with world-class aerospace and manufacturing customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in Data, Software, ML, or Forward Deployed roles, ideally customer-facing
- Strong end-to-end data skills: ingestion to production (Python, SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, AWS)
- Comfortable with complex enterprise data (ERP, supply chain, manufacturing)
- Clear communicator with strong business acumen; autonomous, scrappy, and effective in fast-moving startup environments
- Proven experience scaling initiatives and leading high-performing teams
- Active use of AI tools as part of daily work; curious about capabilities and quick to adopt new workflows
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows (writing, research, analysis, coding, productivity) and genuine interest in frontier AI applications
- Nice-to-have: Strong solution-framing skills taking customer needs end-to-end to execution plans
- Nice-to-have: Systems thinker with strong ownership and execution mindset
