You will join the Collections, Recoveries and Investor (CRI) Engineering team within Core Services Engineering, a critical group responsible for systems that sit directly in the path of every loan funded and every investor relationship. The tech stack includes Ruby, Clojure, and Python.
As Lead Engineer, you will bring technical authority and hands-on delivery to a team managing complex, foundational systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading your team(s) to deliver large, complex, ambiguous initiatives across team boundaries, jointly owning engineering performance metrics with your Engineering Manager and driving continuous improvement.
- Championing engineering-led improvements across Product Engineering, proactively identifying gaps and shaping engineering-wide standards, including effective AI leverage.
- Solving technical problems within your domain as a recognized technical authority, role-modeling effective use of AI tooling.
- Driving technical strategy aligned with commercial outcomes, identifying how your area serves end-to-end customer needs and making trade-offs visible to product partners.
- Collaborating with your Engineering Manager and Product Manager to set technical and product vision for your team and domain.
- Driving architectural decisions affecting your team(s) and domain, ensuring designs are durable, scalable, and secure.
- Communicating expertly with stakeholders at all levels, adapting your style to navigate contentious conversations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Track record of owning complex, ambiguous delivery across team boundaries, driving outcomes beyond feature shipping.
- Genuine passion for mentoring and coaching, with feedback embedded in your working style.
- Strong instincts for spotting cross-team friction and skill in navigating differing priorities.
- Experience in at least one major programming language (Python, Ruby, Clojure, or equivalent).
- Recognized technical authority in your domain, with colleagues seeking your advice and trusting your judgment.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tooling to raise the bar on how your team builds and ships, and helping others build genuine fluency.
