Join Apple's Global Siri team to shape the future of conversational AI for English-speaking users worldwide. Siri assists hundreds of millions of people daily across dozens of languages, and this role sits at the intersection of Machine Learning, Data, and Software Engineering.
You will act as the technical anchor for the UK English market, leading work streams to design and implement large-scale ML and GenAI solutions. Your responsibilities span multiple disciplines: employing advanced Large Language Models (LLMs), adapting models for global markets, running data experiments, and engineering scalable software to deliver highly personalized, culturally relevant experiences.
Whether you are a strong Software Engineer with applied ML experience in production systems, or an ML expert with solid coding skills, you will leverage LLMs, agentic approaches, and data generation methods to build real-world systems. You will work cross-functionally with partner teams across Apple, sharing expertise and proposing architectures that account for international market nuances, ensuring Siri feels genuinely native to English users.
This is a high-impact role where you'll help build the foundation of Siri AI for users around the world, combining technical depth with product focus and end-user empathy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professional-level fluency in English with deep familiarity with UK culture and idiom (or other English-speaking regions)
- Experience applying machine learning and NLP techniques to deliver products, with solid understanding of ML concepts
- Strong skills in software design and programming across different paradigms, including testing and maintainability; experience contributing to large production code bases
- Experience working with data at scale: building or curating datasets, analyzing results, and making data-driven decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with large language models: fine-tuning, prompt and context engineering, evaluation, inference optimization, agentic systems, tool calling, or retrieval-augmented generation
- Experience with speech technologies (ASR, TTS, pronunciation modeling)
- Experience adapting models or products across languages and markets (multilingual/cross-lingual modeling, transfer learning, low-resource settings)
- Ability to formulate research problems, design experiments, implement, and communicate solutions
- Product focus with strong emphasis on end-user experience
- Software development experience in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C; Apple platform experience preferred
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
