Salary: USD 80,000 - 125,000 / annual
TerraClear is an agricultural technology company applying AI, robotics, and mechanical design to solve labor-intensive farming challenges. The company's first product addresses rock clearing on farms—a major issue affecting nearly half of North American farms. They are now expanding into weed, pest, and disease management.
You will join as a Junior Software Development / Tech Support Engineer in a hybrid role based in Issaquah, WA. You'll be part of a tight-knit team building real-time mapping solutions and applications spanning Web, iOS, Android, and Linux platforms.
Key responsibilities:
- Build, debug, and support real-time actionable mapping solutions that are reliable, innovative, and high-performance
- Support real-time in-field image edge processing
- Design, implement, and deploy front-end elements, REST-based back-end services, and database schemas across TerraClear's application stack
- Partner with Product Management and Software Engineering teams to review application functionality requirements and interface design
- Ensure applications remain current with major third-party dependency releases and current design/implementation practices
- Work in an Agile environment to prioritize tasks and deliver technical milestones on schedule
- Travel to field offices and testing areas as needed

**Requirements:**
- 1+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a commercial product environment
- BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or commensurate work experience)
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals
- Knowledge of how to leverage GenAI tools to expedite design, development, and debugging of commercial-quality software applications
- Knowledge of REST-based backend services
- Knowledge of Node.js, Angular/React.js/TypeScript
- Knowledge of MVC architecture
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and excellent team player
- Willingness to travel to field offices and testing areas
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship
**Nice to have:**
- Knowledge of Linux operating system
- Work experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Exposure to AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS)
- Proficiency in commercial SDLC processes, including source code management tools (GitHub)
