Frontera is a healthtech company reimagining behavioral healthcare for children with autism and other behavioral health needs. The company operates both a technology platform (Frontera Health) and clinical care delivery organization (FronteraCare), creating a unique dual-business model that allows rapid learning and differentiated technology development.
You will serve as IT & Systems Lead, owning Frontera's complete internal technology environment across both business units. This is a hands-on, broad-ownership role requiring fluidity between strategic planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure & Employee Support: Own end-to-end IT operations across corporate and clinical teams. Build scalable IT operating models for distributed employees and multiple care locations. Manage device provisioning, endpoint management, identity and access management, software provisioning, networking, and employee support. Establish service levels, escalation paths, and self-service processes. Provide high-touch support to executives while building systems that scale.
Systems, Tooling & Ways of Working: Own and evolve Frontera's internal IT tech stack. Develop clear perspectives on tool standardization, consolidation, and replacement. Partner across the organization to identify operational friction and implement systems improvements. Lead system selection, implementation, and adoption. Build governance around system ownership, permissions, and vendor management. Identify opportunities to simplify the stack and reduce manual work.
Clinical & Multi-Site Technology: Build IT infrastructure supporting distributed clinical workflows and growing care locations. Partner closely with FronteraCare leaders to ensure technology supports care teams. Own technology setup for new clinics. Build repeatable standards and playbooks for rapid location launches.
Security, Compliance, HIPAA & SOC 2: Partner with Engineering, Legal, People, and Finance on security and compliance. Own or project-manage IT components of SOC 2 compliance, including evidence collection, control execution, and annual readiness. Own IT-related security policies and operational controls. Build practical security processes balancing controls with usability. Support vendor security reviews.
Cloud Infrastructure Partnership: Partner with Engineering on areas where internal IT, security, and identity intersect with production infrastructure. Engineering owns AWS and production infrastructure; you own corporate, identity, access, and operational components. Establish clear ownership boundaries and strong operating processes.
M&A Due Diligence & Integration: Support inorganic growth by owning IT diligence and integration for acquisitions. Assess technology environments of potential targets. Develop repeatable IT diligence and integration playbooks. Lead post-close technology integration balancing speed, care continuity, employee experience, security, and standardization.
Vendor & Cost Management: Select, negotiate, and manage vendors across software, hardware, connectivity, managed services, and security. Build strong vendor management practices. Own or partner on IT budget and identify cost reduction opportunities.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive experience across IT, systems, infrastructure, business technology, or technology operations
- Experience owning a broad IT or systems function within a growing, multi-site, or operationally complex organization
- Experience building systems and processes through meaningful organizational growth and change
- Strong hands-on experience across identity and access management, endpoint/device management, SaaS administration, networking, employee lifecycle workflows, and vendor management
- Experience supporting a mix of corporate, technical, frontline, clinical, or distributed employees
- Demonstrated ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution
- Experience selecting, implementing, and driving adoption of enterprise tools
- Strong change management skills and track record of improving how organizations work through technology and process design
- Strong security and compliance orientation
- SOC 2 and HIPAA experience strongly preferred, particularly owning or project-managing readiness, audits, or ongoing compliance
- Experience with IT diligence or systems integration through M&A strongly preferred
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, multi-site services, or another operationally complex environment is a plus
