Salary: CAD 95,000 - 120,000 / annual
AppDirect is a subscription commerce platform enabling organizations to sell any product through any channel on any device as a service. The company powers millions of subscriptions worldwide and is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to join the Montreal team.
In this role, you will help shape and evolve the integration ecosystem as the platform scales with new use cases and extensibility areas. You will architect and build systems capable of processing high volumes of transactions, design and implement scalable fault-tolerant systems to minimize customer impact during failures, and participate in the migration to a microservice-oriented architecture. You'll contribute across the full stack—backend, frontend, infrastructure, and data—collaborating with specialists as needed. The role emphasizes delivering end-to-end business solutions and maintaining production-grade code post-launch.
AppDirect values a product-minded approach and expects you to leverage AI-assisted development tools (L2–L3 capability: daily use of coding agents for bounded tasks with review, and routine delegation of feature-sized work, with you owning design intent, test strategy, and merge quality).
Requirements:
- Fluency in written and spoken French and English
- 3 years of relevant software development experience
- Strong working knowledge of Java (or other JVM languages), JavaScript, and MySQL
- Experience developing solutions in various programming languages
- Knowledge of web service technologies and REST/GraphQL API design
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end business solutions
- Strong product mindset and ability to contribute across the full stack
- Comfort building, supporting, and maintaining production code
