Salary: USD 197,300 - 394,600 / annual
Siemens is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the Americas team for Intelligence Center X (ICX), an industrial AI platform that combines graph technology, ontology, machine learning, and agentic AI to solve enterprise problems. You will manage a presales field development engineering (FDE) team responsible for ideating and creating customer engagements across automotive, aerospace and defense, semiconductors, industrial machinery, pharma, and financial services.
In this player-coach role, you will lead by example by building customer solutions yourself while setting the bar for team quality. You'll work forward-deployed with customers on their real data and problems, building working agentic AI solutions grounded in enterprise ontologies. Your responsibilities include recruiting and growing strong engineers, serving as a senior presence on key customer opportunities alongside sales leadership, and evolving the global ICX practice in collaboration with other regional leaders.
Your team's work spans diverse use cases: connecting quality and supplier data for aerospace manufacturers to identify defects, building agentic assistants for pharma batch release decisions, and shaping strategic engagements with enterprise leadership. You report to the Americas Pre-Sales Leader and work closely with sales teams and strategic partners.
Travel up to 25% is expected, with flexibility for those wanting more customer on-site time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal management or team-lead experience leading customer-facing FDE, presales, services, or other technical teams
- Hands-on expertise with agentic AI and enterprise ontology; you must still build and set the example for your team
- Entrepreneurial mindset: ownership, startup-pace execution, and ability to find solutions before problems are fully defined
- Business value orientation and credibility with both customers and sales leadership
- Technical consulting leadership experience leading client engagements and delivery teams in agentic AI, data and analytics (consultancy or systems integrator background valued)
- Recruiting and developing engineers: hiring, coaching, and career growth
- Senior customer presence: leading working sessions with technical and business stakeholders, including executives
- Data engineering and analytics: understanding enterprise data systems, integration, and modeling
- Modern data and AI platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Google Cloud, AWS data lakes, Palantir, or C3.ai
- Agentic AI design: LLMs, retrieval, tool use, model context protocol (MCP)
- Agentic development tools: Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
- Enterprise ontology and knowledge graph modeling applied in business contexts
- Machine learning and data science: forecasting, anomaly detection, classification
- Industry experience in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, pharma, aerospace, or financial services preferred
