Boom Supersonic is seeking an Integration Engineer to own engine assembly processes for Superpower, their advanced aerospace engine program. You will define how components are staged, assembled, torqued, inspected, and tested—translating hands-on build experience into repeatable, production-ready processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own engine assembly processes from first build through production scale-up
- Develop assembly sequences, tooling, fixtures, and detailed work instructions
- Capture and document engine assembly knowledge, creating clear procedures that enable repeatable, high-quality builds
- Partner with design, quality, and test teams to ensure assemblies meet performance and reliability requirements
- Support hands-on engine builds, troubleshooting fit-up and assembly issues in real time
- Drive continuous improvement in assembly efficiency, quality, and repeatability
- Support engine teardown, inspection, and rebuild activities as designs evolve
- Help scale assembly operations as production rates increase
You will work in a high-energy, collaborative environment with technicians and test teams during live builds. The role requires strong mechanical intuition, the ability to diagnose assembly-related issues, and a calm, methodical approach to problem-solving when components don't fit the first time.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer supporting engine or turbomachinery assembly
- Hands-on exposure to gas turbine, turbofan, or industrial engine builds
- Strong mechanical intuition and ability to diagnose assembly-related issues
- Comfortable working closely with technicians and test teams during live builds
- Fluent in interpreting drawings, tolerances, and assembly requirements
- Strong work ethic, ambition, and effective collaboration skills
- Ability to excel in high-energy, independent, and challenging work environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in engine MRO, prototype engine programs, or first-article builds
- Active or prior FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification
- Experience transitioning engine assembly from prototype to production
ITAR Requirement: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
