Nox Metals is a technology company supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. The company operates factories and offices in Metro Detroit and Los Angeles, using software and automation to deliver metal faster than traditional industry practices.
As Infrastructure Engineer, you will own the foundational systems that connect applications, data, employees, and factory operations across both locations. This role spans cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, identity, security, networking, and incident response.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and operate reliable cloud infrastructure and deployment systems
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, alerting, backups, and disaster recovery
- Manage identity, access, secrets, endpoints, and core security controls
- Support reliable connectivity across offices, factories, applications, and equipment
- Automate infrastructure and configuration through code
- Lead incident response and document follow-up actions
- Partner with application engineers on performance and reliability improvements
- Eliminate single points of failure and undocumented dependencies
- Maintain practical documentation and runbooks
- Evaluate vendors and tooling based on security, reliability, and cost
You will troubleshoot directly across applications, cloud systems, networks, and devices. You balance security with operational practicality, automate work through code, and maintain discipline around change management, monitoring, and recovery. You communicate clearly, work effectively with both engineers and factory teams, and focus on root-cause fixes rather than symptom management.
The role is full-time, in-person in Los Angeles or Detroit. Nox offers equity, company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Qualifications:
Nice-to-have experience includes infrastructure as code, containers, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, factory/warehouse/edge/industrial networks, compliance or security programs, and supporting distributed, fast-growing organizations. The posting does not state explicit required years of experience or mandatory certifications.
