Gallatin is rebuilding defense logistics for US and allied warfighters using an AI-first approach to modernize logistics operations. The Infrastructure team owns the platform that delivers Navigator to warfighters, spanning Kubernetes clusters in commercial and government cloud, application streaming for thin-client users on classified networks, unified artifact pipelines, and air-gapped appliances at forward sites. You will architect, build, and run the platform end-to-end: writing RFCs and PRDs, writing and reviewing production code alongside Product and Engineering teammates, and owning outcomes once shipped. Work spans cloud-native deployments, edge appliances, data platforms, and application streaming layers that bring Navigator to classified environments. You'll partner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) leads and mission owners on STIGs, CVE remediation, audit prep, and controls work for IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments. Key responsibilities include designing and deploying secure production systems across cloud-native and edge appliance deployments; owning end-to-end infrastructure outcomes for critical programs; running production Kubernetes across commercial and government cloud with operators, networking, storage, and multi-cluster operations; hardening the artifact pipeline for consistent signed builds across deployment profiles; maintaining reliability through proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting; embedding application and infrastructure security into systems you build; partnering with GRC on STIG implementation and audit prep; maintaining audit-ready posture between formal assessment cycles; collaborating with Product and Engineering on RFCs, PRDs, and production code; and contributing to engineering best practices including code reviews, documentation, and CI/CD/DevSecOps workflows. Success means a platform that stays up under real operational load, ships trusted artifacts to every profile, and passes audits without fire drills. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years operating production infrastructure in DevOps/DevSecOps, Platform, SRE, Cloud, or Infrastructure roles - Deep production Kubernetes experience: operators, networking, storage, multi-cluster operations, and understanding of failure modes at scale - Expertise with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure) with strong instincts for designing across providers and deployment profiles - Experience packaging and shipping workloads into disconnected or air-gapped environments - Full-stack engineering experience when necessary—production experience designing, building, and operating services in modern backend languages (Go, Python, Rust, TypeScript) - Demonstrated ability to build working solutions from scratch, connect disparate applications, and contribute to existing codebases - Strong application and infrastructure security fundamentals: identity, network segmentation, secrets management, common vulnerability classes, and sound security judgment under ambiguity - Comfortable building security into systems rather than bolting it on - Clear, concise communicator across disciplines (system architecture, RFCs, demos) - Growth mindset; always seeking to learn and stay current with industry trends - Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance - U.S. citizenship required BONUS: Active US SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance, government cloud expertise (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), FedRAMP/IL4/IL5/IL6/JWICS exposure, audit experience (FedRAMP, SOC 2), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), secure CI/CD pipelines, Palantir Foundry experience, big data and distributed systems, defense/intelligence/regulated industry background, open-source contributions.
