Cobot is seeking an Industrial Designer to join their Santa Clara headquarters and help reimagine human-robot interaction. You will work across cross-functional teams to develop and refine innovative concepts for robotics systems, owning the design process from product vision and definition through architecture, CMF (Color, Material, Finish), and DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
In this role, you will translate user needs, design insights, and technical requirements into elegant, intuitive industrial design solutions. You'll drive the full design lifecycle—from early concept exploration through detailed design, prototyping, and manufacturing—developing compelling concepts via sketching, 3D modeling, visualization, and physical prototyping, even in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to navigate technical constraints, resolve design trade-offs, and bring products to life. You will independently manage design workstreams, balance competing priorities, and communicate design decisions effectively across teams. You'll also contribute to adjacent creative and design initiatives to support a cohesive product experience and visual identity.
Cobot is a team of innovators and builders working to create a world where robots are a trusted extension of your surroundings—adapting and reacting around you, not the other way around. The company offers a relocation stipend for candidates relocating from more than 50 miles outside the Santa Clara office.

- Refined visual sensibility, strong design fundamentals, and ability to translate complex problems into simple, thoughtful solutions
- Hands-on experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and strong understanding of how products are engineered, built, and assembled
- Experience with rapid prototyping across a variety of materials, methods, and tools
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino, Alias, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in 3D visualization and rendering tools (KeyShot, Cinema 4D, or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders

- Willing to travel
- Must have and maintain US work authorization
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience incorporating physical-product UX considerations into industrial design for complex hardware systems
- Experience designing products that integrate mechanical, electrical, and other engineering constraints, particularly in robotics or related industries
