The Camera Hardware team at Apple develops cutting-edge camera solutions and technologies for all of Apple's products, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro, and more. iPhone remains the world's most popular camera, while Vision Pro demonstrates the future of spatial computing through advanced computer vision hardware and algorithms. In this highly visible role based in Munich, you will leverage extensive experience and deep technical expertise in image sensors and cameras to advance exploration, architecture, development, and system integration of cutting-edge image sensors and related silicon technologies. You will have direct impact on Apple's ambitious product roadmap. Key responsibilities include: - Determine and derive key functional and performance parameters for novel computer vision cameras and systems - Identify available technologies and solutions to meet near-term product requirements - Drive technology development efforts both internally and with strategic partners for longer-term product development - Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams and partners - Provide oversight and guidance to active design efforts at strategic partners - Support camera subsystem integration to system and product teams through product release - Represent camera silicon components in cross-functional and leadership review forums The role fosters engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation in a collaborative and hands-on environment. You will work with talented, multi-disciplined individuals solving new challenges daily. Minimum Qualifications: - Extensive experience in image sensor development - Prior experience managing teams and organizations - MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics-related fields - Deep understanding of the full signal chain from photons through to processed image formats - Experience with system/subsystem modeling and model-based system engineering (SysML, Matlab, SystemC) - Hands-on design experience in Analog/Mixed-Signal and/or Digital design - Proficiency in English Preferred Qualifications: - Optics and related performance parameters experience - Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills - Experience with high-speed SerDes interface protocols and signal integrity challenges
