You will own Fireworks' global revenue accounting function end-to-end. This includes revenue recognition under ASC 606, contract review and analysis, monthly and quarterly close activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and related internal controls. You'll serve as the company's technical accounting expert, responsible for evaluating complex and non-standard customer contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment, preparing technical accounting memos, and supporting external audits.
Key responsibilities include partnering closely with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, Billing, and Finance to evaluate accounting implications of new products, pricing models, and contract structures. You'll establish scalable revenue accounting policies and processes as the company scales, lead monthly and quarterly close activities covering deferred revenue, contract assets/liabilities, variable consideration, and related balance sheet accounts, and identify opportunities to automate and improve revenue accounting workflows and data integrity. Over time, you'll build and lead a high-performing revenue accounting team while supporting broader technical accounting initiatives and readiness for future public-company standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial technical revenue accounting background
- Deep expertise in ASC 606 with experience applying the standard to complex technology or SaaS contracts
- Strong understanding of usage-based, consumption-based, subscription, and enterprise contract structures
- Experience evaluating non-standard terms including minimum commitments, prepaid credits, discounts, rebates, service-level arrangements, contract modifications, and variable consideration
- Strong technical accounting research and memo-writing skills
- Experience in high-growth technology companies; experience with AI, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, SaaS, or consumption-based businesses especially relevant
- Prior experience managing revenue close processes, internal controls, and external audit relationships
- Ability to partner effectively with commercial teams while maintaining sound accounting judgment and controls
- Strong systems orientation and experience scaling revenue accounting processes through automation
- CPA strongly preferred
- Public accounting experience, particularly with Big Four firm, preferred
