AutogenAI is a fast-growing generative AI SaaS company transforming how organizations create and optimize winning bids, tenders, and proposals through cutting-edge natural language processing technology. The company is expanding rapidly across multiple regions and seeks an experienced engineering leader to drive technical excellence and operational scaling.
As Head of Engineering, you will own the technical strategy, operational health, and engineering culture of a global engineering organization spanning London, New York, and Washington DC. You will lead through 2–3 Tech Leads, ultimately accountable for the output, quality, and wellbeing of approximately 15 developers.
This senior leadership role sits within the Build function, reporting to the Chief Product Officer alongside Product, Design, and GTM teams. You will evolve the operational direction for engineering, scope the operational rigor needed to scale a fast-growing SaaS business, and ensure engineering culture and practices keep pace with the demands of a global, always-on Enterprise AI product.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Direction & Technical Leadership:
- Own and evolve AutogenAI's technical strategy in collaboration with the Chief Technical Architect and engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with product goals and company vision across all regions
- Act as a senior technical voice at leadership level, partnering with the Chief People Officer and GTM to shape the direction of the Build operational strategy
- Represent Engineering in customer-facing scoping sessions with top Enterprise clients
- Make and own high-stakes decisions affecting the entire engineering organization
Engineering Operations & Scaling:
- Review, evolve, and continuously improve the operational backbone of engineering: delivery processes, engineering standards, on-call and incident practices, and cross-team ways of working
- Build and maintain a continuous deployment culture, carefully balancing speed and quality through clear expectation setting, true cross-functional collaboration, and a customer-facing approach
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, quality gates, and performance metrics
- Drive hiring, retention, and development of engineering talent across all regions
Culture & People Leadership:
- Foster a high-performance engineering culture aligned with company values: customer obsession, ownership, learning, transparency, and respect
- Mentor and develop Tech Leads and individual contributors
- Ensure the wellbeing and professional growth of the engineering team
- Build psychological safety and accountability within the organization
