Track Titan is building an operating system for motorsport, serving 300,000+ sim racers with AI coaching and collecting over 1M km of racing telemetry daily. The company raised a $5M seed in late 2025 led by Partech and Game Changers Ventures and is the only tier-one VC-backed company focused on racing.
As Head of Engineering, you will own the people, delivery, and process side of the engineering organization across product engineering and ML. This is the first full-time engineering leadership role at the company, with direct partnership with the Chief Technology and Product Officer who owns product and AI direction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and grow the engineering team through 1:1s, candid feedback, and growth planning
- Own delivery cadence and commitments across product and ML, making progress visible and addressing systemic issues
- Build the operating system (culture, rituals, processes) that makes the team fast—planning, retros, definition of done
- Lead org-wide standards and practices for quality, reliability, infrastructure, and cost as an AI-native engineering org
- Hands-on management role: spend real time in the codebase and work closely with senior engineers on critical technical decisions
- Own engineering hiring and onboarding, prioritizing talent density over headcount
- Shape external presence through engineering blog, conference talks, open source, or other initiatives
Success in the first six months means delivery is predictable and measurably faster, leveling and performance systems are built for growth, first hires have lifted the average and delivered impact, the org can absorb new people/teams/codebases without losing speed, and the team is proud of how you build and run things with AI.
The company ships across web, desktop, and mobile, with ML work moving from research into product. Engineering leadership has been shared until now; this role makes it full-time with full backing from leadership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong track record managing software engineers, including leading multiple teams or managing managers; management must be your passion, not a drift
- Engineers you've managed would sign up to work for you again
- Experience both taking over existing teams and building through hiring
- Demonstrated ability to make teams measurably faster (predictability, scoping, cycle time, quality of commitments)
- High, explicit bar that people rise to rather than resent; preference for hard conversations early
- Experience building people-systems (engineering ladders, feedback flows, work planning/review), ideally where they didn't exist
- Technically strong and hands-on; ideally been a strong senior or staff engineer; can go deep in the stack and pressure-test architecture
- Startup-scale pragmatism; comfortable in early-stage orgs while designing for scale; understand principles behind processes
- Excellent written communicator; fluency with async-first, distributed work
- Strong point of view on how AI reshapes engineering teams, with concrete examples
- Obsessed with the product and users; will use Track Titan regularly and critically; dogfooding is part of culture
Strong pluses (not required):
- Led ML, data science, or research-heavy work into production alongside product engineering
- Operated at leadership level with budget ownership, board reporting, technical due diligence, or acquisition integration
- Motorsport passion or sim racing background; genuine curiosity to go deep fast
- Based in London with regular presence at HQ
