Base Power is rebuilding America's electrical grid through distributed battery networks. The Hardware Test Engineer will design and execute comprehensive validation tests to ensure hardware systems perform reliably under real-world conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive validation efforts across electrical, mechanical, and reliability domains to meet engineering and reliability requirements
- Design and build test setups, including mechanical fixtures, PCBAs, power supplies, sensors, and test equipment
- Automate test equipment, environmental chambers, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems
- Lead root cause and failure analysis on hardware issues to produce actionable findings
- Work with large datasets to automate data analysis and anomaly detection
- Translate complex technical results into clear, high-signal reports that inform critical design decisions across engineering
The Hardware Reliability and Test team acts as a tight feedback loop for the design team, ensuring equipment exceeds standards through rigorous testing at component, sub-assembly, and system levels. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
